Education Foundation gift for SCUC employees

The SCUC ISD Education Foundation is awarding every school district employee with a token of its esteem and gratitude during Teacher Appreciation Week. Each SCUC ISD employee will receive a coffee mug with the Foundation logo emblazoned on it, a $5 gift card to local coffee shop On the Grind, and a thank you card expressing appreciation for the work during the pandemic that included “…incredible effort to continue to provide for our students.”

Staffers working out of the Marion Dolford Learning Center were the first to receive the gifts on May 4th. Foundation members on hand to deliver the gifts included Michelle Scarbrough, co-VP of Marketing; Jeanine Claus, VP of Development; and Ana Peters, VP of Communications. They were joined by Dr. Damon Edwards, Deputy Superintendent; and David Pevoto, SCUC ISD Board Trustee.

A considerable number of students in the National Honor Society at Samuel Clemens High School and Byron P. Steele High School volunteered their time to assist with decorating the mugs and packing the boxes for delivery to every campus and department in the school district.

Health and safety protocols in response to COVID-19 prompted the postponement of the annual innovative teaching grants for the 2020-21 school year. However, Foundation board members reached agreement to acknowledge the entire SCUC ISD workforce for its inspired, collaborative work since March of 2020 to continue the district’s educational mission.

Fundraising efforts will continue with the annual SCUC ISD Education Foundation Golf Tournament on Friday, May 21st, at the Olympia Hills Golf and Event Center. Online registration is available on the Foundation website:
