February is CTE Month
February is Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month®, a public awareness campaign that takes place to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country. That includes schools and education programs offered by SCUC that specialize in skilled trades, applied sciences, modern technologies and career preparation.
SCUC currently has a total of 3817 students in grades 7-12 currently enrolled in at least one of our CTE programs, with 13 of the 14 Programs of Study available for enrollment. There are 65 full time instructors in the district and they are also assisted by many blended academic/CTE instructors.
CTE courses are offered at Corbett Junior High School, Dobie Junior High School, Samuel Clemens High School and Byron P. Steele High School. Many of the CTE courses offered at SCUC can lead to an industry-recognized certification.
CTE programs allow individuals of all circumstances to upskill and elevate their career opportunities with little to no barriers to enrollment or completion. SCUC students can enter a program, move through quickly and join the workforce on an accelerated path to success.
