Commitment to Excellence Awards

Francisco Perez received the Norma J. Paschal Commitment to Children Award at the 2021-2022 Commitment to Excellence Awards held on May 12, 2022 at the River Village Marriott in New Braunfels. The award is the highest honor given to SCUC employees at the yearly program. Perez, who serves as the Transportation Director for SCUC ISD, was also named the Administrator of the Year. 

Other honorees announced at the event were: Vanessa Kerr of Cibolo Valley Elementary School as the Elementary Teacher of the Year while Jessica Poole of Samuel Clemens High School received Secondary Teacher of the Year honors. Kari Wallace of Allison L. Steele Enhanced Learning Center was acknowledged as the KENS 5/EXCEL Award winner.

Commitment to Excellence winners were named in eighteen different categories, joined by campus Teachers of the Year. Thirty four retirees, totaling 698 of service to SCUC ISD, were also honored for their distinguished service.

Meanwhile, Fredy Degollado and Andres Villarreal were inducted into the SCUC ISD Hall of Honor. 

Community Partner of the Year designations were congratulated, including: Knights of Columbus, Partners in Education (PIE) and the Randolph Area Rotary. 

Volunteers of the Year are: Nicole Sterling, Misty Snowden and Noelle Williams.
