I want to thank you for your patience, flexibility, and optimism during the school closure. None of us are experiencing the Spring that we all hoped for this year. We understand how painful this is for seniors as this has been heartbreaking for so many due to the numerous cancellations of events and competitions. Please know that we share your loss since we know that nothing can replace this disruption to your senior year.
The purpose of this communication is to inform and provide clarity on how we will move forward in the upcoming weeks with senior activities that maintain focus on what is best for the health of our students, staff and community. As you may know, Governor Abbott announced his plan to open services and activities with limited occupancy on Monday, but urged all Texans to remain committed to safe distancing practices that reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Campus counselors and administrators, in collaboration with district leaders have been working diligently to ensure that the class of 2020 is honored and celebrated with year-end virtual recognitions and a traditional graduation ceremony.
