The week of April 5-9, 2021 is National Assistant Principals Week, dedicated to honor the contributions of assistant principals who are vital to the mission of student success in schools. Job duties are long, but some of their responsibilities include: scheduling, testing, teacher observation and student discipline, to name a few. Some of their unofficial, and sometimes more important responsibilities include: problem-solvers, listeners, confidants and beacons of encouragement to students and staff alike.
Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD has a team of 28 assistant principals and two associate principals. There are ten assistant principals at the elementary level, four in intermediate schools, five assistant principals in junior high, and nine at the high schools. Jereme Mathews and Dr. Jose Falcon serve as associate principals at Byron P. Steele High School and Samuel Clemens High School, respectively.
Take the opportunity to honor and thank assistant principals for their outstanding work in fostering a positive culture and climate on campus which allows students to grow and thrive.
