Tristino Ali, a member of the Samuel Clemens High School Choir, will perform with the Texas All-State Tenor-Bass Choir this Saturday at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center as part of the 2020 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Clinic/Convention.
Tristino was chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels. Tristino, a senior, is a student of Stephan Paul and sings at school under the direction of Jessalyn Specht who is a member of TMEA. He recently returned from singing with the Honors Performance Series Concert Choir at Carnegie hall in New York City.
High school students selected to perform in the All-State concerts have competed through auditions to qualify at the state level. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive.
Tristino and his fellow Tenor-Bass Choir recitalists will perform eight pieces at the concert. Here, Tristino performs a clip from “Gao Shan Qing”, a Taiwanese Folk Tune arranged by Reed Criddle.
