SCUC ISD Trustees appoint Amy Denman as Principal at Green Valley ES
Amy Denman has been appointed as the new principal at Green Valley Elementary School. SCUC ISD Board Trustees approved the recommendation at the scheduled meeting on June 18th.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled to serve in this role at the school that I’ve been blessed to call my home for the last seven years,” Denman said. “My heart is dedicated to Green Valley Elementary, and all of our Grizzlies that we serve. I am excited about this opportunity to continue on this journey with our students, staff, parents, and community as we grow learners and leaders.”
Ms. Denman has been an educator for 22 years, beginning her career as a sixth grade teacher in the East Central Independent School District. She spent twelve years in the classroom and library, primarily at the elementary and intermediate level.
In 2005, Denman joined SCUC ISD as a librarian at Rose Garden Elementary School, later becoming assistant principal on the campus before assuming that responsibility at Green Valley Elementary School. Denman was selected as the SCUC ISD Assistant Principal of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year.
Denman graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She attained her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Trinity University and later earned another Master’s Degree from Our Lady of the Lake University as a Learning Resource Specialist.
“I am looking forward to the upcoming school year,” Denman said. “Green Valley will continue to be a place where our students achieve amazing things both in academics and leadership.”
